API Terms of Service

Effective Date: June 4, 2026

The Undesirables LLC ยท Wyoming, USA

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing the TCG Oracle API at oracle.the-undesirables.com (the "API"), you agree to be bound by these API Terms of Service ("API Terms"). These API Terms are in addition to, and do not replace, the general Terms of Use for The Undesirables platform.

If you are accessing the API on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these API Terms.

2. API Access & Authentication

The API provides two access tiers:

  • Free Endpoints โ€” Rate-limited public endpoints for search, market snapshots, and self-navigating API recommendations. No authentication required.
  • Paid Endpoints (x402) โ€” Financial intelligence endpoints gated by x402 micropayments on the Base network (USDC). Payment is verified per-request via the Coinbase Developer Platform Facilitator.

API access may be revoked at any time for abuse, violation of these terms, or at the sole discretion of The Undesirables LLC.

3. Permitted Use

You may use the API to:

  • Search and retrieve trading card prices, market data, and product information for personal or non-competing commercial applications.
  • Verify on-chain Merkle proofs for price authentication.
  • Integrate TCG data into AI agents, portfolio tools, and collection management applications, provided your application does not compete directly with the TCG Oracle (see Section 5).
  • Build applications that consume API data, subject to the attribution requirements in Section 7.

4. Prohibited Use

๐Ÿšซ
The following uses are strictly prohibited. Violation may result in immediate and permanent revocation of API access without notice.
  • Data Harvesting: Scraping, bulk downloading, caching, or systematically redistributing API data to build a standalone database or derivative dataset.
  • Resale & Proxying: Reselling API access, proxying API endpoints to third parties, or wrapping the API into a paid service without a commercial license agreement.
  • Rate Limit Evasion: Using automated tools, distributed systems, or rotating credentials to circumvent rate limits or throttling mechanisms.
  • Reverse Engineering: Attempting to reverse-engineer pricing models, AI grading algorithms, or Monte Carlo simulation parameters beyond what is disclosed in API responses.
  • Misrepresentation: Presenting API data as your own proprietary data, or removing or obscuring attribution.

5. Competitive Use Limitation

A "Competitive Offering" is any product or service offered to third parties on a paid basis (including through paid support arrangements) that provides any of the following as a primary feature:

  • TCG market intelligence or pricing aggregation
  • AI-powered card grading (PSA/Beckett prediction)
  • On-chain price oracle functionality for collectibles
  • Monte Carlo or stochastic pricing simulation for trading cards

You may not use the API to build, operate, or enhance a Competitive Offering without a Commercial License from The Undesirables LLC. If you are unsure whether your use case qualifies, contact us โ€” we are builder-friendly and happy to discuss partnership arrangements.

6. Rate Limits & Fair Use

Free endpoints are subject to rate limiting. Current default limits:

  • Free endpoints: 60 requests per minute per IP address
  • Paid endpoints: Rate limited per x402 payment verification cycle

Exceeding rate limits may result in temporary throttling (HTTP 429) or permanent access revocation for repeat offenders. For higher throughput requirements, contact us for a Commercial API Agreement.

7. Data Attribution

If you display or redistribute data obtained from the TCG Oracle API in your application, website, or publication, you must include visible attribution:

๐Ÿ“Š
Required attribution: "Price data by TCG Oracle โ€” The Undesirables LLC"

Attribution must be reasonably visible to end users. Placing attribution solely in source code, metadata, or hidden elements does not satisfy this requirement.

8. Service Level

The API is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee:

  • Uptime, availability, or response times
  • Data completeness, accuracy, or timeliness
  • Backward compatibility of API responses or endpoints
  • Continuity of any specific endpoint or feature

We reserve the right to modify, deprecate, throttle, or discontinue any API endpoint at any time, with or without notice. Breaking changes will be communicated via our GitHub repositories and X/Twitter when possible.

9. x402 Payment Terms

Paid API endpoints use the x402 HTTP payment protocol with USDC on the Base network (Chain ID 8453). By submitting a paid API request:

  • You authorize the transfer of the specified USDC amount from your wallet to our merchant address.
  • Payments are settled on-chain and are non-refundable once the transaction is confirmed.
  • If the API returns an error after payment is settled, no automatic refund is issued. Contact us for case-by-case resolution.
  • Pricing for each endpoint is published in the API response headers and on our documentation. Prices may change with notice.

10. Data Accuracy & AI Disclaimer

โš ๏ธ
API data is for informational purposes only. Nothing returned by the API constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. AI-generated grades and Monte Carlo simulations are probabilistic estimates, not guarantees.
  • Market prices are sourced from TCGPlayer via TCGCSV and may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate.
  • AI card grades are predictions based on visual analysis and do not represent official PSA, Beckett, or CGC grades.
  • Monte Carlo simulations use stochastic models with inherent uncertainty. Past price data does not predict future performance.
  • eBay comparable listings reflect active (not sold) listings and may not represent actual market values.

Never make financial decisions based solely on API data. Always verify through independent sources before buying, selling, or grading trading cards.

11. Limitation of Liability

THE API IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE UNDESIRABLES LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM:

  • Your use of or inability to use the API
  • Financial decisions made based on API data, AI grades, or simulation results
  • Trading card purchases, sales, or grading submissions influenced by API output
  • Service interruptions, data loss, or security breaches
  • x402 payment processing errors or blockchain transaction failures

In no event shall The Undesirables LLC's total aggregate liability exceed One Hundred U.S. Dollars ($100.00).

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless The Undesirables LLC, its founders, developers, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the API in violation of these API Terms
  • Your application's presentation of API data to end users
  • Any third-party claims related to your use of the API

13. Governing Law

These API Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes not resolved informally shall be subject to binding arbitration as described in our general Terms of Use.

14. Modification of Terms

We reserve the right to modify these API Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the Effective Date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the API after the updated Effective Date constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
